The High School Art department shares the common goal of prepaing all students for a successful future and career in the visual arts. This goal is achieved through allowing our students to learn through exploration by creating an environment and curriculum that aligns with modern careers and creative areas of study. The Art department offers classes that are scaffolded by skill level and include a variety of courses and mediums including: drawing, painting, ceramics, computer, video and photography.

Computer Art and Photography

 This course will introduce students to computer art technology through a visual arts perspective. Students will learn how to manipulate imagry digitally by using Photoshop and Illustrator computer programs. Students will also use additional Adobe apps preloaded to your student Ipad. A website portfolio will also be created to establish a professional body of work. Students may use their personal camera and stylus throughout the course of the year.

Computer Art and Photography 2
 
This course is a continuation of Computer Art and Photography 1. Students will learn the functionality of digital photography and how to operate a camera. Students will also learn how to operate a photography drone and take aeriel photographs. Advanced Photoshop and Illustrator computer manipulation techniques will be explored.
Graphic Design

This class is a continuation from Computer Art and Photography 1 with an emphasis on computer graphics. Students will utilze Photoshop and Illustrator with other art mediums such as screen-printing.

3D Design


 Students will work with wood, metal, found object and clay to create 3D works of art. Students will design and construct their work,, focusing on individual expression, and creativity.  Instruction in the use of the potter's wheel and some power tools will be provided. 3D computer scuptures will be printed with the use of  3D printing technology.

 Spicific projects and their sequence may vary from one marking period to another. New ideas for optimal learning experiance are explored on a regular basis.
